Local Rule if the ball or ball marker is accidentally moved on the putting green.

When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.

The ball or ball-marker accidentally moved must be replaced to the original position.

This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.

Examples of accidentally moving the ball or marker and replacing without penalty.
  • Preparing to make a stroke at address and accidentally moving the ball.
  • Dropping the ball and it accidentally moves the ball marker.
  • Dropping the marker and it accidentally moves the ball.
  • If you, your caddie or your partner accidentally kick the ball.
Note 1: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced. No penalty.

Note 2: If the player purposefully causes the ball to move, example picks up the ball before marking, the ball must be replaced with a one stroke penalty. See RCGA rule 18-i,ii.

Due to inclement weather the Honey Pot for March 29 was cancelled. While a number of brave troopers played 9 soggy holes no one completed 18. Also due to the inclement weather the sign up for the THUNDERBIRD TROPHY has been extended to April 5. If you would like to play in this singles match play event but can’t get in to sign up please email me and I will include you in the draw.
